Quick and Easy Christmas Crafts for Toddlers with background image of toddler hands building a paper gingerbread house and decorating with stickers

Tis the season of Christmas crafting! One of my favorite seasons of all, as I LOVE all crafts and Christmas!Β I’m going to share with you a little secret to make Christmas crafts with toddlers easier…Β

The secret: Hobby Lobby craft kits

This season they have tons of different options for all ages- small toddler to preteens. And they are all at least 50% off, which makes some of them only a dollar-something per kit.

With such a great price, I honestly don’t care if my toddler decides to go completely rogue and they end up… somewhere other than in our house (like the trash can.)

Gingerbread Houses with Stickers

These gingerbread houses were a huge hit! It’s a little tricky getting the houses folded correctly but once they are up, my toddler had a blast decorating them with all of the stickers. His creativity really came out and I was so impressed! These houses also bought us quite a bit of time, which also always a plus when it comes to toddler boys.

Paper Chain

This paper chain was a little learning curve for my 2.5 year old but I feel like it’s a classic Christmas craft. They have a slot already cut into one side of each paper strip that you use to hold the other side. My toddler eventually learned how to do it but we also trialed using a stapler. I think both options work great but you have to give the young toddlers a little time to figure out the construction.

Foam Ornaments

We’ve also done these foam snowmen. All of the “parts” and clothing are stickers but I will say they are a little hard to peel for toddlers so plan on peeling them all yourself. I was surprised that the snowmen are actually decently easy to thread the string into to make them hanging ornaments.

Wooden Ornaments

These wooden ornaments also made our list with the intention to color them. These are some of the ones that mayyyy not last long in our house because…. toddlers. Lots of scribbles, not a lot of definition in the final product. They were still fun though and bought us some time and Christmas spirit.

Be sure to check out Hobby Lobby’s Christmas craft section and grab some of these for this holiday season. You really can’t beat the price or the selection. We’ve got a few more different kits lined up and we likely will give some away to family as “gifts” this year.Β

Happy crafting and merry Christmas!
